Anya began her belly dance adventure in 2004 when she spontaneously signed up for a class. Since that first fateful class Anya has fallen in love with the music and dance of the Middle East. She began teaching and performing professionally in the fall of 2007.

Pulling from skills developed during her Education degree, Anya is noted as being a patient, energetic, and knowledgeable instructor and a captivating and passionate performer. Always looking to improve her skills and knowledge Anya has attended a variety of workshops and has studied diligently under her mentor, Hadia, completing her Teacher Training certification program and Professional Development course.

Highlights of her career include performing with the Akiki Brothers in Montreal and Halifax and with members of the UofA Middle Eastern Music Ensemble. Anya can be found performing and teaching throughout Edmonton and Area.
